Use This Trick to Eliminate Negative Energies in Your House

Have you ever walked into a place and immediately gotten the sense that something was somehow “off”? Call it intuition or bad vibes, but it all means the same thing- you were picking up on negative energy. Over time, homes can develop that same unpleasant, “off” feeling, which may contribute to stress, sickness, and worse. The good news is, it’s very easy to eliminate negative energies and restore your home’s comfort level.

To fix the energy in your home, you’ll need: a clear drinking glass or jar, water, salt, and white vinegar. Simply add some clean water to the glass (don’t fill it to the top!), then salt, then vinegar. Set the mixture in a room where it won’t be seen, preferably one where you receive visitors.

After a few hours, observe the mixture. Has the water level dropped or risen? Does the water appear cloudy? After a full day has passed, see how the energy of the room feels to you. The negative energies should have lifted. If not, empty the glass, clean it thoroughly, and repeat the procedure with a fresh mixture.

All of the ingredients used here have a long history of use in both physical cleaning and spiritual cleansing. In many Eastern traditions, salt is used to repel negative energies. In some neopagan traditions, leaving a dish of white vinegar out overnight is said to drive out negativity. Both salt and vinegar release negative ions into their immediate area, which help freshen and purify the air.

This is not the only cure for negative energies. Some homes respond to the salt, vinegar, and water cure immediately, but others may need more help. If you still feel stubborn, stuck negative energies in your home, consider using cleansing herbs. White sage, bay, rosemary, and lemon are all considered cleansing herbs in various cultures.

Cleansing herbs are often available in dried blends, or, for white sage, tied into bundles. The easiest way to use them is to burn the dried herbs in a fireproof dish. As they burn, fan the smoke into the corners of the room. The smoke will dissipate negative energies, while the essential oils in the herbs kill viruses and bacteria and freshen the air. Cleansing herbs impart positive vibrations to space, which cancel out and repel negativity. Smoke may be hazardous to people with breathing problems, and always keep flames away from children and pets.

If using smoke is an issue, it’s also possible to create a room spray by infusing cleansing herbs in water. Give each room a good spray, concentrating on corners and areas that negative energies accumulate. The infusion may also be added to mop water to clean hard floors and repel negativity. Please be aware that dark-colored infusions may stain light fabrics or surfaces.

Negative energies build up over time and must be dealt with. Homes that feel dull, heavy or tense should be cleansed. If you’ve been feeling more stressed, anxious, or ill-at-ease than usual, you should clear your space. With these tips, you can give your home brighter, happier, more positive energy.
