Are You an Introvert or an Extrovert?
Ever since Carl Jung first started giving people their personality types there has been a divide between the introvert and extrovert camps.
One style isn’t necessarily better than the other, they’re just different, introverts and extroverts are the two basic personality types at the heart of human nature. Once you figure out which type you belong to, you can make better decisions to unlock your true potential.
Let’s look at the different characteristics of the introvert personality and the extrovert personality to see where you fall on the scale.Introverts tend to make up 60% of the gifted population, they have been classified as the shy, quiet ones, but they tend to spend a lot of time fine tuning and honing skills.
Introverts are drained by social encounters and energized by solitary, often creative pursuits. Their disposition is frequently misconstrued as shyness, social phobia, or even avoidant personality disorder, but many introverts socialize easily, they simply prefer not to.
Introverts are usually very creative beings and will often join in on a conversation to shed light on a subject rather than talk about trivial topics.
Although introverts may have a hard time coping with societal pressure to be a social butterfly, there is nothing wrong with not doing it. Meanwhile extroverts feel most themselves around big groups of people, introverts enjoy solitude and though others may see them as weird, it is completely fine, it’s just another type of personality, shared with many great minds, such as Albert Einstein and Mahatma Gandhi.
Extroverts on the other hand gain energy from being around people. They make up about three-quarters of the American population, and as such are varied as a rainbow. They zip through the world in search of novel experiences, social connections, and leadership opportunities.
Being around large groups of people allows them to display their natural extroverted traits. An extroverted personality is widely accepted as normal because it is easy for them when it comes to engaging in group activities or socialization.
Extroversion is a core factor of personality and is difficult to modify. But generally speaking, the only people bothered by extroverts’ volubility and drive are the introverted members of their circle. The key difference is how the person recharges. Which environment best juices your batteries?
