Hugs Benefits: Hug to Live Longer and Younger
Scientists have recently discovered a way to lower your blood pressure, increase your heart health, improve depression symptoms, assist your immune system, reduce stress, induce sleep, invigorate the body and rejuvenate the mind. Sounds like some sort of huge medical breakthrough, except this is completely free, has no adverse side effects, is calorie free, caffeine free, and gluten free, and is widely available already. Yes, a hug , the simple hug, a circle of joy started by two arms of love, is this medical miracle.
It’s so amazing that how hugs, by releasing oxytocin can boost the quality and quantity of our lives.
Here is the interesting fact: Hug, appreciation, generous touch, gratitude, and emotional connections with others raise OXYTOCINlevels in blood. Oxytocinis a hormone in mammalian brains (both male and female) and is best known for its roles in $e*u@l reproduction, in particular during and after childbirth. It is released in large amounts during labor, facilitating birth, and after stimulation of the nipples, facilitating breastfeeding. Oxytocincounteracts stress and reduces anxiety effects and therefore, has a huge role in increasing quality and quantity of life. In addition, oxytocinappears to be behind many of the health benefits from meditation, massage and acupuncture.
Oxytocinis the reason why people with family support and people with pets tend to recover more effective and more quickly from illness, why married people tend to live longer, why support groups benefit those with cancer, addictions and chronic disorders, and why care-giving primate parents, whether male or female, live longer than the non-care-giving parents.
