If you are anything like me anything natural tried first is much more preferable than all the chemicals you would put into your body otherwise, if natural works, awesome!
Use a mixture of ginger powder and clove powder in equal parts (ginger for anti-inflammatory properties and clove for pain relief) then take 1 tsp of the mixed powders and stir into 2 Tbsp of olive oil. Use 1/2 tsp of this herbal oil, swallowing slowly to allow it to coat your throat, or you can gargle with ginger tea, or the ginger/clove mixture in water as a gargle. You can also make small balls with honey and ginger to suck on.

Ginger Clove Cinnamon Milk with Honey
Ingredients:
600 ml fresh milk
1½-2 tablespoons sliced ginger
1 teaspoon cloves
5 cm cinnamon
1½ tablespoon palm sugar
1½ tablespoons honey
Preparation method:
Place all ingredients except honey in a small saucepan. Bring to boil and let simmer for about 30 minutes. Drain the remnants, add honey.
